The weekly monday classes at Chirohouse will from April onwards take place the first 3 wednesdays of the month.
First week: introduction/absolute beginner
Second week: Beginner with prior experience
Third week: Intermediate level floorwork
This 2h wednesday workshop is suitable for students some prior experience in shibari/kinbaku and a somewhat good understanding of the fundamentals as teached in beginner level classes.
You need to be confident tying a single column tie and using counter tension since I will not guide through this during this workshop but go directly to explaining the ties.
We will be making some floorwork ties and exercises that have a few more steps to keep track of than the content given at beginner classes. Some ties are suitable mostly on the floor and some are building blocks good to learn if one has plans to continue going into suspension work in the future.
It is a safer and queer friendly space with the intention of welcoming and respecting everyone with an interest to learn about Japanese originated rope bondage.
Do I need a partner?
For this class you need to attend as at least two together. You can not attend alone since the ties are more complicated and it is important everyone has a partner to tie with for each part. Switching is possible but not obligatory.
Please bring your own ropes! 4 or more recommended
Price:
30€/person (so 60 per couple)
Please note that beginner clip cards do not apply to this workshop
Where?
The class takes place in a lofty dojo space overlooking the Spree at Chirohouse on the Holzmarkt area. The adress is Holzmarkstrasse 25 which is walking distance from stations Jannowitzbrücke or Ostbahnhof. To get to the room go to the back of the tall building (side facing the river) and look for a gate with a buzzer saying Chirohouse. Call the buzzer to get let in and take lift or stairs to the top floor. The room is on the farthest corner of the building facing Kater Blau. You can enter via the reception or directly the dojo area.
The room is wheelchair accessible but toilets are not.
